Hamburger Chow Mein

2 TBS shortening
½ to 1 lb hamburger, browned
1 onion chopped
1 cup celery
1 can cream of chicken soup
1 can cream of mushroom soup
½ cup uncooked rice
3 or 4 potatoes, shredded
1 tsp soy sauce
1 ½ cups water
¼ tsp pepper
½ can chow mein noodles

Lightly grease a 9x13 baking pan with shortening. Mix everything but the chow mein noodles together. Cover and Bake at 350 for one hour. Remove from oven. Top with the Chow mein noodles. Bake for an additional 5 minutes.
